“We are doomed to art”

In today’s post we will tell you a little more about Georgi Paunov – Paunetsa, one of the people who continue to make us proud of the Bulgarian art tradition and who is definitely worth exploring.

Born on May 2, 1944, Georgi Paunov has been involved in painting since 1960. When he was 18, he opened his first solo exhibition. He graduated from the Auto Engineer School, and later developed his talent in art. He is a master at creating oil paintings.

On May 11, 2012, he was awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of Varshets”, and his works are owned by private collectors from Bulgaria, Germany, France, the USA, the United Kingdom and others, as well as numerous galleries.

One of the great masters of the pallet and brush for north-western Bulgaria, and perhaps for the whole. The masterpieces created by his hand are one of the most colorful works expressing in a unique and deeply touching way Northwestern Bulgaria, Russia, Europe and many more places around the world.

Paunetsa has a son – Georgi Paunov (junior), who is also involved in art and painting. Some of his works were presented last year in the Kutlovitsa Hall – over 30 paintings, representing landscapes from Corsica, where the artist has been living for the last decade.
